A Co Waterford man has been given two life sentences for the murder of his wife and the man he believed was having an affair with her.

Mr Declan Power (47) of Kinsale Beg, Ardmore, admitted murdering his wife, and mother of three, Joan (40) on March 9th, 2002, and local publican Maurice Curran (48) on the same date.

Mrs Power's body was found at the family home in Ardmore, and Mr Curran's in the street outside the pub he ran five miles away in Clashmore.
