A Catholic church was damaged in an arson attack in Co Antrim last night.

St Mary's on the Hill Catholic church in Glengormley suffered scorch damage to the front doors. The alarm was raised at 10.20 p.m.

A man who was "small in stature", wearing a cream cap and with a covered face, was seen running from the scene, a police spokeswoman said.

She said two petrol bombs were thrown at the church.
