Bonn - The United States and the European Union urged Ukraine yesterday to close the disaster-hit Chernobyl nuclear power plant and reform its energy sector.
The Western countries also urged Kiev to push ahead with reforms sanctioned by the International Monetary Fund and to ensure campaigning for October's presidential election is free and fair.
