Climbers still cut off by snow

Anchorage - Snow showers and winds gusting to 40 m.p.h

Anchorage - Snow showers and winds gusting to 40 m.p.h. have prevented rescuers from reaching two British climbers stranded on the upper reaches of Mount McKinley in Alaska, the US National Park Service said yesterday.

Forecasts for continued poor weather suggested that rescuers would not be able to fly to the mountain until today, a park service spokeswoman said.
