The Independent Fianna Fail Party in Donegal has denied claims that it was responsible for placing an election poster in an Inishowen graveyard.

The poster, urging voters to support party leader, Mr Harry Blaney, in this week's election, was stuck on a tree at a Church of Ireland graveyard outside Buncrana.

Denying responsibility for the poster, a party spokesman said an election poster had been removed from nearby Inch Island and was obviously erected at the graveyard. Independent Fianna Fail workers removed the poster and the party has contacted the local Church of Ireland rector to express its regret.
