A CIA technical analysis of a tape aired this week on Arab television has determined that it was "likely" Saddam Hussein's voice, a US intelligenceofficial said this evening.
"Although it cannot be determined with absolute certainty, CIA's assessment after a technical analysis of the tape is that it is likely that it is Saddam Hussein's voice," the official told Reuters, referring to the tape aired this week.
