A three-year-old girl from Limerick died yesterday afternoon when she was struck by a truck while playing near her home.
The child was on her tricycle at Hawthorne Drive in Newcastle West when she was caught under a wheel of the truck.
She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and removed to the Midwest Regional Hospital in Limerick.
