Child airlifted to Manchester

A sick child and her parents were transported by air ambulance to Whythenshaw Hospital in Manchester last night.

A sick child and her parents were transported by air ambulance to Whythenshaw Hospital in Manchester last night.

The child was flown from Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel on an Air Corps AW139 helicopter to Manchester at 7.45pm last night where she was transferred to hospital.

This is the 33rd Air Ambulance mission carried out by the Air Corps so far this year.

There were 69 missions in 2010 mostly involving neo-natal or transplant patients.
