One of Ireland's best known bridges was closed to traffic today amid fears of possible chemical spillage.

The alert began on the Foyle Bridge in Derry after a lorry overturned.

Police in the city said the lorry overturned close to the Caw Roundabout.

"A potential chemical spillage is being checked," the PSNI said.
