London - British churches said yesterday they were recasting a sentimental image of Jesus Christ in the mould of Cuba's Marxist rebel icon Ernesto "Che" Guevara.
A poster campaign to promote churchgoing portrays Jesus, with a crown of thorns, in the guise of a classic red and black image of Guevara, a comrade of Dr Fidel Castro during the Cuban revolution.
It bears the slogan "Meek. Mild. As If. Discover the real Jesus. Church. April 4th".
