A man was charged yesterday with attempted murder following a non-terrorist gun attack at a house in the Andersonstown area of Belfast a week ago.
Mr Damien Patrick Campbell (34), from Greenwood Hill, Belfast, was accused of attempting to murder Mr Thomas Caldwell at Riverdale Park North.
Four shotgun blasts were fired at the house, breaking windows and also the windscreen of a car parked in the driveway. No one was injured in the shooting but a number of people in the house were treated for shock.
A detective told the Magistrates Court that when Campbell was charged he replied: "I didn't go out with the intent to cause injury, I just went to hit the car."
