Motorists are being advised to take extra care on the roads this evening because of icy conditions in the midlands and continuing flooding in other counties.
The AA is warning drivers in Co Laois to be alert after a series of serious crashes in the county, most on minor roads.
Drivers in Co Mayo are also advised that the road from Ballinrobe to 'The Neal' remains heavily flooded and impassable. The Ballinrobe to Clonburr Rd is flooded but is passable.
In Co Cavan drivers are being warned of severe flooding on the N3 south of Belturbet at Bun Lake and also on the Killashandra to Belturbet Rd. Both roads are passable but extreme care is required.

There are also reports of ice on Laragh Rd, near Stradone.
