THE line up for this years's Cat Laughs Comedy Festival is a measure of how the five day laugh fest in Kilkenny has grown since actors Lynn Cahill and Richard Cook first thought of it. Groundhog Day star Bill Murray is this year's main attraction, but the jam packed bill for the June bank holiday weekend festival also includes Sean Hughes, Ardal O'Hanlon of Father Ted tame, Greg Proops of Whose Line Is It Anyway and Mark Lamarr, the young English stand up comedian who presents Shooting Stars on BBC television.

Mark shot to fame as a presenter of The Word, the Channel 4 "your programme" and was in Dublin this week to launch the festival. The not very modest comedian claimed never to have come across a heckle that he couldn't handle. But then he also couldn't remember what brand of goo he puts in his very coiffed quiff.
