The Police Service of Northern Ireland has appealed for information after a number of secretarian attacks in north Belfast overnight.

Several cars and houses were damaged in the attacks which began at around 11pm last night.

The PSNI said early indications were that the attacks were sectarian and connected

A Peugeot 406 car was destroyed by a petrol bomb and three houses were damaged by paint bombs at Cliftondene Crescent. Shortly afterwards another car was damaged and paint was thrown over two houses at Abbeydale Park in the lower Ballysillan area.

A police spokesperson confirmed another two houses at Ligoniel Road and a home at Summerdale Park were damaged by paint bombs. In Hazelwood Park in Newtownabbey a BMW car was destroyed by fire, while cars in Glengormley and Farmley Gardens were also attacked.
