Roma coach Fabio Capello wants to succeed Alex Ferguson as manager of Manchester United, British media reported today.

Capello, a former AC Milan coach and Italian international, is reportedly prepared to break his contract with Roma to take over the reins at United when Ferguson retires at the end of next season.

"Yes, I would like to manage Manchester United," Capello told the News of the World."I like England, I like the spirit of the English football and I would like to work in English football.

"At the moment I have signed for Roma for two years but who knows in football? Maybe in another year it will be time to move on."
