A Dublin woman jailed for life for the murder and dismemberment of her mother's boyfriend has lodged an appeal against her conviction.

Charlotte Mulhall's sister Linda, who was jailed for manslaughter of the man, has already lodged an appeal against the severity of her 15 year sentence.

Charlotte Mulhall (24), a mother of one, was given a life term in the Central Criminal Court for the murder of Farah Swaleh Noor who had been dating their mother Kathleen. She has now lodged an appeal against conviction to the Court of Criminal Appeal.

Earlier this month, her sister, mother of four Linda Mulhall (31), was jailed for 15 years for her part in the killing of the man. Both women were tried together.

The sisters, both of Kilcare Gardens, Tallaght, had both denied the murder of Farah Noor otherwise known as Sheilila Salim at their mother's flat at Richmond Cottages, Ballybough on March 20th last year.

His headless and dismembered body was found floating in the Royal Canal ten days later.

After a 13 day trial Charlotte Mulhall was found guilty of murder and Linda Mulhall was cleared of murder but found guilty of manslaughter.

The trial was told Charlotte stabbed the Kenyan up to 20 times with a kitchen knife while Linda admitted hitting him "a good few times" on the head with a claw hammer. B

oth then spent hours sawing up his body in the bathroom of the mother's apartment at Richmond Cottages, Ballybough. They then dumped his limbs and torso in the Royal Canal before taking his head on the bus to Tallaght where it was hidden in a park before being disposed of in another location. The victim's head has never been found.
