At least one Canadian soldier with the NATO-led peacekeeping force in Afghanistan was killed and three soldiers wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up near their car in Kabul today.

Senior interior ministry official Mr Mohammad Harun Asifi told journalists today the attack happened near the Canadian base on the southern outskirts of the city. Police said at least nine Afghan civilians were also wounded in the attack.
