Bolton have completed the signing of Spanish defender Ivan Campo from Real Madrid on a season-long loan deal, it was confirmed today.

The 28-year-old centre-back passed a medical and agreed personal terms after meeting club officials on yesterday evening.

"We are thoroughly delighted to sign Ivan after weeks of hard negotiating," Bolton manager Sam Allardyce told the club's website today. "He has returned to Spain to sort out some personal affairs and will return next week.

"Due to his situation at Real Madrid, he's not had much match practice and will require two to three weeks before he reaches the right level of match fitness."
