A 79-year-old pensioner who lived alone, died in a fire at his home in Cabra, Dublin, yesterday. The alarm was raised shortly before 6 p.m. A number of units of Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the scene. The cause of the fire has not yet been established, but gardai believe it was accidental. A post-mortem examination will be carried out today.
