Vienna - The UN chief weapons inspector, Mr Richard Butler, promised Iraq yesterday that his team would complete its work with lightning speed if it was told the whole truth about Baghdad's weapons of mass destruction. "Iraq has the opportunity now, the ball at its feet, to tell us everything that it can about its chemical and biological weapons," he said in Vienna.
"I will make a promise in return - if they give us the truth, we will verify in lightning speed and we can be finished with all of this," said Mr Butler, who flies to Baghdad today for his first visit the since the crisis over weapons inspections was defused.
