London - The mother of James Bulger yesterday made an emotional plea for "the evil little monsters" who killed her child to have their 15-year sentences upheld by Britain's Lord Chief Justice.
Lord Bingham is reviewing the sentences after a European Court ruling that it should not be up to politicians to decide how long convicted criminals spent in detention. The sentence was set seven years ago by the former Home Secretary, Mr Michael Howard, when the convicted murderers Robert Thompson and Jon Venables were both 10.
