Sinn Fein knows what the Republican movement needs to do to enable it to take part in the Northern Ireland peace talks, the Taoiseach, Mr Bruton, said in an article he wrote in the Belfast Telegraph yesterday.

Mr Bruton said: "They have a vital role to play. But just as unionists do not have a veto, Sinn Fein cannot claim a veto either. It is clear at the same time, however, that we are not waiting around for Sinn Fein."
