An SDLP MLA, Mr Tommy Gallagher, has met the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Cowen, to highlight the level of British army activity in the Fermanagh-South Tyrone area.
Afterwards Mr Gallagher urged the Government to request that all vehicle checks by British soldiers be carried out in the presence of police officers. He also called for the removal of the Parachute Regiment from the constituency. He said Mr Cowen promised to take the matter up with Dr John Reid.
