A national breast-feeding promotion week, the first of its kind, was launched yesterday with the unveiling of a poster by the La Leche League of Ireland, part of an international organisation which offers help and information on breast-feeding and mother-to-mother support.
The poster, highlighting the benefits, was launched by Dr Declan Murphy, president of the Irish College of General Practitioners, at the National Maternity Hospital in Holles Street, Dublin.
