The RUC is reported to have finally made a breakthrough in the murder of Darren Fawns, the 13-year-old Co Antrim boy found murdered after being sexually assaulted in July 1995. Detectives investigating the case are understood to be preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It is understood the RUC is making its report after interviewing a man about the murder.

Darren's partly clothed body was found in shrubbery at Masserene Golf Course near his home in Antrim town on July 29th, 1995.
