Gardaí were last night investigating the death of a four-year-old boy who died when a steel door fell on him.
The boy was playing in a yard beside his home when the six-foot container door fell on him at about 5.30pm.
The boy was named locally as Daniel Cleary, of Drumbar, near Donegal town. His parents, Keith and Patricia Cleary, have one other younger son. Mr Cleary runs a haulage and plant hire business near his home. He was said by friends to have been on business abroad at the time. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Letterkenny General Hospital, where a postmortem is set to be held.
