A seven-year-old schoolboy, Michael Treanor, died in the early hours of yesterday morning in Monaghan General Hospital as a result of injuries he received after being struck by a vehicle on the Park Road on Monday. The accident occurred at 3 p.m. as he was returning from school.
The boy was a pupil at Gael Scoil Ulain on the main road near to his home at Mullaghmatt in the town.
