The three year old boy, Aaron Thornton, who survived a fire at his Dublin home last Sunday in which his mother was killed, has died. He was being treated at the intensive care unit of Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.

The fire took place in a flat over Edenmore Shopping Centre in Coolock at around 11 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Aaron's mother, Ms Paula Thornton (26), died at the scene. Her second child, Amy (5) was on holiday with relatives in Courtown, Co Wexford, at the time.
