An 11-year-old boy was killed when the car he was travelling in collided with another in Co Laois yesterday. The accident occurred at around 4.45 p.m. at Aghnahilly, Portlaoise.
The driver and another occupant of the car the boy was travelling in were taken to Portlaoise County Hospital. Their injuries were not thought to be serious.
