Boost for Danish party

Copenhagen - The Danish People's Party (DPP), which took almost 7 per cent of the vote in Tuesday's local elections, has come from nowhere in just two years under the assertive leadership of Ms Pia Kjaersgaard. The DPP, formed by Ms Kjaersgaard in 1995 after a split in the Progress Party, campaigned on an openly anti-immigration, anti-foreigner platform.
