Islamabad - The United Nations said yesterday it had defused hundreds of live bombs on display in Afghanistan at what was possibly the most dangerous museum in the world.

In a month-long operation last month, experts defused, destroyed or exploded all the ordnance, including 18 aircraft bombs weighing 500 kg each, at the request of the ruling Taliban movement. The museum is in Zendagan town, near the western city of Herat.
