A man has been arrested in Co Kerry following the discovery of a body in a bog close to Listowel after a planned garda search this morning.
The body of the man in his 20s was found on bog land in Ballylongford, Listowel
It remains at scene and the offices of the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau have been notified.
The area is currently preserved and a number other scenes are also being examined.
While gardai have not confirmed the identity of the deceased, The Irish Times understands he was a Brazilian man who had been living in Gort, Co Galway for some time. He is believed to have been missing for just under a month.
A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery and he is currently being held at Listowel Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
