The chairwoman is Mrs Carmel Naughton, who is married to the chairman of Glen Dimplex, Mr Martin Naughton. The other members are:
The Earl of Belmore, an art connoisseur and collector who recently replaced Lord O'Neill;
Mr Ciaran MacGonigal, director of the Hunt Museum in Limerick, who is serving his second term on the board. He was first appointed by Mr Haughey and reappointed by the then minister for arts, culture and the Gaeltacht, Mr Michael D. Higgins;
Mr Carey Clarke is former president of the Royal Hibernian Academy and its nominee to the board;
Mr Liam Connellan, former head of the Confederation of Irish Industry, is an ex-officio member as president of the Royal Dublin Society;
Col William Ringrose is also an ex-officio member as senior vice-president of the RDS;
Mr William Finlay, former chairman of the board for many years, is a former governor of the Bank of Ireland and chairman of the Beit Foundation;
Ms Imogen Stuart, representing the Royal Hibernian Academy, is a sculptor;
Mr Arthur Gibney, the architect and painter, is an ex-officio member as president of the Royal Hibernian Academy;
Mr Barry Murphy is chairman of the Commissioners of Public Works;
Ms Sylvie Kleinman-Batt, a translator, was nominated by Democratic Left to the board;
Mr Anthony Cronin, arts adviser to Mr Haughey when he was taoiseach, was appointed by Mr Higgins in the last days of the last government;
Mr Michael O'Reilly, a solicitor and company director, was nominated by the former Taoiseach, Mr John Bruton;
Ms Geraldine Hone, a dealer and art collector who formerly worked for Christie's, was appointed by the Arts Minister, Ms de Valera, this week;
Mr Andrew O'Connor, conservator at the National Gallery, was also appointed this week;
Mr Ken Rohan, a businessman and patron of the arts, was this week's third appointment to the board, following recent retirements.
