Colombo - Tamil Tiger rebels are reported to have detonated explosives hidden in the roof of a shop in eastern Sri Lanka, killing 15 soldiers.
Military officials said 15 soldiers were also wounded in the explosion at around noon near the town of Batticaloa, 240 km east of the capital. The soldiers and airmen were travelling in a convoy of buses when the explosion occurred.
