As the SDLP and Sinn Fein staged protests in Belfast about theGovernment's failure to publish a report by judge Peter Coryinto the solicitor's killing, the West Belfast MP said in Australia: "PatFinucane was murdered as a result of Britain's very deliberate policy ofstate-sanctioned murder.
"His family have refused to accept the lies and the barriers constructed bythe British state in the years since his murder.
"The demand for a full public judicial inquiry into the killing of PatFinucane is undeniable.
"The British Government hid behind the work of Judge Cory for three years inresisting this demand and now they are hiding behind the consequences of it."They need to publish the Cory Report and act upon its recommendations.
"Tony Blair cannot continue to stall. He cannot continue to protect thosewithin the British system who developed the policy of collusion and who arestill actively engaged in cover-up and concealment."
Mr Finucane was gunned down in February 1989 by the Ulster Freedom Fightersduring a meal with his family in their north Belfast home.
