The Catholic bishops, meeting in Dundrum, Co Tipperary, have issued a statement deploring and condemning last Friday's London bombing, and all political violence.
"We know that the horror we feel at the prospect of a renewed campaign of violence, which we had hoped was over for good, is shared by the vast majority of people in all parts of the country and abroad.
"We earnestly urge all those with the responsibility of advancing dialogue to pursue their task with an even greater sense of urgency and resolve."
