Leo Cullen was born in Templetuohy, Co Tipperary, in 1948, and now lives in Monkstown, Co Dublin, with his wife and family. He was first published by David Marcus on his "New Writing" page in the Irish Press. He has won poetry scholarships and has studied fiction writing with John McGahern. His first book, a collection of stories entitled Clocking Ninety on the Road to Cloughjordan, was published in 1994.
