Having spent time in Belfast and New York, Kevan Murphy now lives in his native Ballinamore, Co Leitrim. He holds national and European diplomas in engineering, marketing and environmental conservation management. He is at present engaged in establishing his very own millennium native oak wood: in the year 2000 he won the national RDS amenity forestry award. His first published short story, Senility[ RO], won the literary award in the 1998 edition of the Leitrim Guardian. Since then he has written various factual articles for the magazine and is at present writing what he describes as "the second in a trilogy of unpublished novels".
