A suicide bomber on a bicycle has blown up a West Bank crossing and wounded two Israeli soldiers.

The army said the blast occurred this morning near a passage built for Palestinian farmers outside the West Bank city of Qalqilya, and that one soldier was wounded seriously, another lightly.

Israel Radio said the bomber detonated next to an Israeli jeep at the crossing.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the blast, which came the morning after Israel killed three Palestinian militants of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction in an air strike in the West Bank town of Jenin.
