Bergin drives Galway to All-Ireland glory

Galway 0-15 Dublin 0-07

An outstanding first half performance set Galway on the road to victory over Dublin in today's All-Ireland under-21 football final in Portlaoise.

John O'Mahony's side outclassed Dublin in the opening half and led by 0-8 to 0-1 at half-time.

Senior star Joe Bergin guided Galway throughout with a man-of-the-match showing and together with Michael Meehan carved Tommy Lyon's Dublin side apart.

Dublin steadied their ship after the break but despite an honest performance from forward Alan Brogan they were left with too much ground to make up following their dismal return in the first half.
