Belfast man in critical condition after attack

A man (25) remains "critical" in hospital this morning after being found unconscious in north Belfast yesterday morning.

A man (25) remains "critical" in hospital this morning after being found unconscious in north Belfast yesterday morning.

Police in Belfast have issued a fresh appeal for information about the man whom they believe was the victim of an assault.

The man is understood to have suffered serious head injuries.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland say the man was dropped off by a car at the Mater Hospital at 6.50 a.m. yesterday and walked along the Crumlin Road.

He was found unconscious shortly after 7 a.m. at the corner of Clifton Park Avenue and Summer Street.

The man has ginger hair and was wearing light blue trousers, a dark blue top and black boots when he was found.

Detectives at the Antrim Road are investigating.
