Worker-representatives of the Richardson's fertiliser plant in Belfast will hold talks with the Government and ICI today in an effort to resolve a dispute over redundancy and pensions payments.

The closure of the three Irish Fertiliser Industries (IFI) plants in Cork, Arklow and Belfast was announced last month.

The Government has a 51 per cent stake in the former fertiliser company. Some 630 people lost their jobs in the three plants.

Workers are annoyed at the size of the redundancies and also at what they claim is a 40 per cent shortfall in provisions for their pensions.
