The Northern Ireland Arts Council's attempt to get Millennium Commission funding for its projected Sir John Lavery Gallery in Belfast has collapsed. A letter from the commission's office in London, dated January 31st, said it "was not satisfied that your project is, in principle, financially and technically viable and it has not, therefore, been selected for further examination".
