British Beer drinkers could have their picture painted on a pint glass before they have had time to finish their drink in a scheme being considered by brewery bosses.
Bass is looking into ways of printing a photograph on to the glass, believing it could be a money-spinner.
A digital camera behind the bar would take the customer's picture as the drink was ordered.
While the pint is poured, an ink-jet printer beneath the pump nozzle would print the drinker's image on to the glass, according to New Scientist magazine.
Mr Paul Hegarty, Bass communications director, said the company has patented the idea, but added "it is still in the very early stages of the development process".
He said: "We still have to do work to find out on what occasion it could be used, which drinkers would be interested in it and who would find it useful."
The glass could be transformed into a souvenir if permanent ink was used, or the picture could be washed off if it was made with water-soluble ink.
