David Beckham declined to comment on the controversy concerning England and Manchester United colleague Paul Scholes on the run-up to Saturday's match with Sweden at Old Trafford.
United have also refused to be drawn on reports of Scholes being fined for refusing to play in the Worthington Cup defeat at Arsenal on Monday.
England captain Beckham said little on the issue at this morning’s England press conference.
"To be honest it's not something I really want to go into," said Beckham. "I don't really know what's gone on. It's between the manager and the player".
Beckham, who was dropped by Ferguson last season for a Premiership match at Leeds following a row over him missing training, was clearly determined to avoid getting involved in the Scholes affair.
He also dismissed talk of a crisis at United in the wake of recent disappointments, the latest being a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield.
"It doesn't bother me. Whenever we draw or lose a game it's a crisis at Man United but I don't see it being a problem," Beckham said.
"It's always disappointing losing big games and losing to Liverpool was disappointing because of the way we played but at the end of the day it's just one game".
Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard has been ruled out of the England team for the friendly with a groin injury.
