Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Manuel Durao Barroso said today he would announce his decision on whether to accept the presidency of the European Commission tomorrow.
Speaking to reporters in Istanbul, where he was attending the Nato summit meeting, Mr Barroso said he planned to return to Portugal today.
"I will have a meeting tomorrow with the president. I also will have a special meeting with the cabinet, and tomorrow I will announce my decision," Mr Barroso said.
