High winds and rough seas have resulted in a number of ferry crossings between Ireland and Britain being cancelled this afternoon.

The Irish ferries 6 p.m. crossing from Dublin to Holyhead has been cancelled as has the return journey scheduled to leave at 8.45 p.m.

High waves are also responsible for the cancellation of the Stena Lines 4 p.m. sailing from Fishguard to Rosslare and the return journey at 6.30 p.m.

Cruise Ferry routes from Irish Ferries continue to operate to time and a representative from their office said that Dublin Swift sailings will be back in service as soon as the weather improves.
