The director of GOAL, Mr John O'Shea, has urged the Government to use its influence with the EU to intervene between Rwanda and Zaire.
"Have we to wait until hundreds of thousands of innocent people are butchered before the international community takes action?" he asked. GOAL, whose personnel worked in the Bukavu and Goma camps for two years until they pulled out on security grounds eight weeks ago, was ready to resume relief activities if safety could be guaranteed.
