NASA launched the space shuttle Atlantis from Florida this afternoon on a mission to resume construction of the International Space Station.
The shuttle carrying six astronauts took off from the Kennedy Space Center on a flight postponed for nearly two weeks by weather and technical problems.
The primary goal is to install a $372-million solar power module on the $100-billion space station.
