Police in London said today they were investigating a raid at the home of Arsenal's Nigerian international Nwankwo Kanu during which his brother was tied up and threatened at gunpoint.
The incident happened late on Sunday at the Premiership footballer's home just north of the capital.
The 26-year-old striker was not at the property when a gang of about three masked men forced the front door and demanded the keys to a luxury car, police said.
His brother, Henry, was tied up before the thieves are believed to have made off with mobile telephones, clothes and cash.
Reports said it was the second time his home had been targeted. After the last raid two years ago he installed extra security, but it was not in place because his brother was in the house.
